If you are an outdoor adventurer type then I think some of these ideas will be totally up your alley!
Lake Superior Helicopter Company offers multiple routes for those looking to get an aerial view of the North Shore and Duluth. They range from 2 mile rides, 30 mile rides and even sunset rides!

Ziplining is a classic adrenaline rush type of activity. While Minnesota is not known for its ziplining, it does offer an 8 line course in Grand Marais! The Towering Pines Canopy ride will take you through the 200 year old white pines overlooking an inland lake. A truly unforgettable experience.
For those wanting to get out on the water and soak up the sun, paddle boarding might be a perfect option for you. While Lake Superior can be daunting (not to mention freezing), Park Point Beach is an amazing starting point as it is a white sand beach that has slightly warmer water than the rest of the lake! There are also so many small inland lakes that would be great options! If you are looking for places to rent a paddle board, I’d suggest UMD Rental Center. You could also sign up for the Rise and Ride Sunrise Paddle Board ride through Zenith Adventure in Canal Park!
We don’t lack in snow for 5 months out of the year! Whether a cross country skier or a black diamond thrill seeker, the north shore is perfect for skiing. There are many groomed trails from Duluth all the way up to the Canadian boarder.

Ok so this isn’t technically on the north shore of Minnesota, but it is still on Lake Superior. Bayfield is a cute Wisconsin town about 85 miles east of Duluth. It is also nestled right on Lake Superior and has the Apostle Islands National Lake Shore. Trek & Trail Company offer half day, full day and overnight trips to the Apostle Islands. This company offers wet suits and sea kayaks to help you get to the islands and sea caves safely!
For all the anglers out there, this one might be for you! Zenith Adventures offers half and full day excursions to different parts of Lake Superior (dependent on seasons). From spring steelhead runs to summer trout fishing, this adventure is bound to help you catch your dream fish!
As I said before, Lake Superior can be chilly… year round. But on a particularly warm day, taking a dip in the water can be so refreshing. There are also so many small rivers that empty into Lake Superior and have some fun swimming spots within them. Nothing quite says up north like spending your summer day swimming and having a beach picnic! (include images)

This is such a fun and eccentric idea for those who have caught the tattoo bug! There are some great choices for tattoo parlors in the Duluth area. Some include
9 Lives Tattoos- https://www.9livestattoo.com/
Gitchee Gummee- https://www.duluthtattoo.com/
For those that aren’t looking for an action packed day but still want a unique experience…
If you are a crafty kind of couple who wants to have a keepsake at the end of your day then book a class with Lake
Superior Art Glass in Canal Park! https://lakesuperiorartglass.com/

The North Shore knows how to do beer! We have some amazing breweries that I think you would love to visit after you say your vows! Some of my favorite spots for an ice cold beer…
Castle Danger Brewery in Two Harbors (seriously their cream ale is to die for).
Bent Paddle Brewing in Duluth has such fun vibes and their Cold Press Ale is amazing!
Ursa Minor also in Duluth offers some unique beers and also has some of my favorite pizza in town!
Duluth has two cideries that are amazing for those cider drinkers out there! Duluth Cider and Wild State Cider.
Do less and bring your hammocks for a trail nap! For those who want to get lost in nature on a hike then take a siesta with a book in a hammock! The superior hiking trail is 310 miles long, there is bound to be a spot that is perfect for you to set up your hammock and relax.
